Features
The Turgo turbine is a type of impulse turbine used for hydroelectric power generation. It has a compact design, which makes it suitable for sites with limited space or low water flow rates with medium head operation. It utilizes high-speed water jets directed onto a runner with spoon-shaped blades, converting the water’s kinetic energy into rotational mechanical energy to drive a generator and produce electricity.
This hydro turbine has a relatively simple construction compared to other types of turbines, which makes it easier to maintain. It consists of fewer components, resulting in lower maintenance requirements and costs.
- High overall Plant Factor
- Two identical turbines
- Fully automatic operation of the plant based with remote monitoring facility
The Turgo turbine is particularly suitable for sites with medium water heads, typically ranging from 15 to 300 meters. It efficiently harnesses the energy from high-pressure water flows, enabling effective power generation.
Wide Range of Power Outputs: Turgo turbines are available in various sizes and power outputs, allowing them to be tailored to specific project requirements. They can be designed to produce a few kilowatts up to several megawatts of electrical power.
